An intelligence-driven joint operation by Khayelitsha SAPS and the National Intervention Unit resulted in the arrest of two 32-year-old male suspects on charges of possessing prohibited firearms.
The operation took place in the early hours of Thursday, 05 March 2026. According to police reports, members acted on a tip-off regarding suspects believed to be involved in robberies in the Khayelitsha area and allegedly in possession of firearms.
Officers proceeded to an identified premises on Sulani Drive in Site B, Khayelitsha, where they conducted a search. During the search, law enforcement officials confiscated a 9mm pistol, a .38 Special revolver lacking serial numbers, and three imitation firearms.
The two suspects are in custody and are scheduled to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates’ Court following formal charging.
