Three Suspects to Face Court in Pretoria North Armed Robbery Case

Three suspects are scheduled to appear before the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 06 March 2026, on charges of armed robbery and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

The suspects were arrested on Tuesday afternoon following a robbery in Pretoria North.

According to police, an elderly woman was robbed by three armed suspects shortly after leaving a banking institution. The suspects took her bag, which contained cellphones, jewellery, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspects fled the scene in a white Volkswagen Polo.

Police were alerted and a search was initiated. A joint team comprising Pretoria North SAPS Detectives, SAPS Highway Patrol, GAC Security, and Tracker Connect followed information that led them to Zone 1 in Garankuwa.

At that location, two suspects were arrested. Police recovered one firearm and the white VW Polo used in the robbery. The vehicle had false registration plates.

The team then proceeded to the Orchards area, where a third suspect was arrested and a second firearm was recovered.

The three suspects are expected to make their first court appearance on Thursday.
