Man Appears in Court for Possession of Suspected Stolen Luxury Vehicle

 A 30-year-old man has appeared in court following his arrest for being in possession of a luxury vehicle suspected to be stolen.

Sipho Dlamini appeared before the Modimolle Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 02 March 2026. He faces a charge of possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle, identified as a Toyota Land Cruiser V8. The vehicle is estimated to be valued at approximately R1.9 million.

During the court proceedings, the suspect was remanded in custody. The case has been postponed until 06 March 2026, when Dlamini is expected to apply for formal bail.

Dlamini’s arrest stems from an intelligence-driven operation conducted on Saturday, 01 March 2026. The operation was carried out by a combination of police units, including members of the Waterberg Flying Squad, as well as the Modimolle and Mahwelereng Crime Prevention Units.
