Authorities report that the suspects, aged 23 and 28, are scheduled to appear in the Ladybrand Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 2 March 2026. They face charges of murder and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH).

According to a statement by police, officers were summoned to a farm in the district on Friday, 27 February 2026, at approximately 13:30 following a report of a suspected murder. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of Rakoro David Moloi (52). He had an open wound to the right side of his body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police also located the victim’s younger brother, aged 46, near a river close to a dumping site. He was found with serious injuries and was limping. He was subsequently transported to a hospital for medical treatment.
