A collaborative police operation has resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old woman in connection with a house robbery that took place in Madibeng Hills over the weekend. Law enforcement agencies recovered stolen goods and unlicensed firearms during the tactical intervention.
According to police reports, the incident began in the early hours of Sunday, 22 February 2026, when three unknown male suspects, armed with firearms, entered a residence in Madibeng Hills, near Klipgat. The suspects robbed the family of various items valued at more than R190,000 before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported.
Items stolen during the robbery include a Polo TSI motor vehicle, a 9mm pistol with two magazines and several rounds of ammunition, a Wi-Fi router, sneakers, and cellphones.
Following a report of the incident, extensive investigations were launched. A joint tactical operation was executed in the early hours of Monday, 23 February 2026, by members of Brits Crime Intelligence, Klipgat Detectives, and the Zondi Patrol Team. The operation led authorities to an address in Midas View, Mabopane.
Upon arrival, police did not locate the suspects linked directly to the house robbery. Instead, they found a 29-year-old woman in possession of two pistols, several rounds of ammunition, a Wi-Fi router, wedding rings, and a pair of sneakers. The woman was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation regarding the ownership of the items.
A subsequent investigation revealed that one of the pistols had its serial number filed off. The other was positively identified as the firearm stolen during the Klipgat house robbery on Sunday.
The suspect, identified as Rude Sithole (29), was arrested and charged with possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, possession of suspected stolen property, and contravention of the Immigration Act. She appeared before the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, where she was remanded in custody. The case has been postponed to Wednesday, 1 April 2026, for a formal bail application.
