Police in Phuthaditjjhaba have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the murder of a foreign national businessman following a dispute over change.
According to authorities, the suspect, a resident of Bluegumbosch, allegedly stabbed the victim to death with a knife. The altercation is understood to have stemmed from an argument regarding monetary change.
It is reported that following the incident, the suspect fled to the residence of a police official after noticing a reaction from community members. He was subsequently handed over to the police and taken into custody.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Phuthaditjhaba Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of murder. Police have confirmed that a case of murder has been opened and is under investigation.
