Ramokoatsi Leferesane, a 34-year-old man who identifies himself as “Maliehe Maliehe,” has been remanded in custody following his initial court appearance on charges of murder. Leferesane appeared before the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday in connection with the deaths of two women.
The case has been postponed to 19 March 2026 to allow for further investigations by the South African Police Service. Leferesane will remain behind bars pending his next court date.
His arrest stems from an incident in the early hours of Sunday, 9 February 2026. According to police reports, the bodies of two adult females were discovered at approximately 01:50 in the Namibia Square area. The victims were found lying in the street near a residential property, each having sustained fatal gunshot wounds to the back of the head.
