Manhunt Underway After Eleven Goats Stolen

Police in Lebowakgomo, Capricorn District, have launched a manhunt for suspects following the theft of eleven goats in Malekapane Village, Ga-Mphahlele.

According to the police report, the incident occurred between the night of Friday, 13 February 2026, and the early hours of Saturday, 14 February 2026. The complainant stated that at approximately 18:00 on Friday, she secured all her goats in the kraal within her yard before going to sleep.

At around 03:30 on Saturday, she was awakened by the sound of the goats making a noise. Upon investigating the kraal, she discovered that the gate, which she had left secured, was now fastened with unknown wires.

A count of the livestock revealed that eleven goats were missing. The stolen goats are valued at an estimated R27,500.00.

While inspecting the premises, the complainant also found her dog dead in the yard. The cause of death has not yet been determined; however, authorities have stated that food poisoning cannot be ruled out at this stage.

Police investigations are continuing. No arrests have been made yet.
