Limpopo Man Found Guilty of Murdering Nurse Outside Hospital

The Polokwane High Court has convicted 58-year-old Molabe Fannie Seribishane on all charges related to the murder of a female nurse outside Lebowakgomo Hospital in October 2024.

On 12 February 2026, the court found Seribishane guilty of murder, contravention of a protection order, and the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. The victim, 52-year-old Mumsy Seribishane, was employed as a nurse at Lebowakgomo Hospital.

The court ordered that the accused remain in custody. The matter has been remanded to 15 April 2026 for sentencing proceedings.

According to the evidence presented, the victim was shot and killed near the hospital gate at approximately 18:00 on 22 October 2024 as she was reporting for night duty. The suspect fled the scene in a white VW Golf 7.

A case was initially opened at SAPS Lebowakgomo before being transferred to the Provincial Office, where it was assigned to Captain Phaladi Makola for further investigation.

On 13 November 2024, members of the Provincial Tracking Team and the Provincial Investigation Unit (PIU) arrested the accused in Lebowakgomo. During the arrest, police seized a 9mm pistol that had previously been reported stolen in Seshego, along with a white VW Golf 7 believed to have been used in the commission of the crime. Subsequent ballistic investigations positively linked the recovered firearm to the murder.
