Two suspects were arrested and a large quantity of drugs seized during a police operation in the Reitz and Petsana areas last Friday.
The Bethlehem Public Order Policing (POP) Unit acted on community intelligence regarding a house in Petsana Township suspected of being a drug outlet. Upon searching the identified premises, officers discovered two plastic bags containing more than 2,000 Mandrax tablets. The estimated street value of the seizure is R122,000.
A 32-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were arrested at the scene and charged with dealing in drugs.
The suspects made their initial appearance before the Reitz Magistrate’s Court on Monday, February 9, 2026. The case has been postponed to February 16, 2026, for a formal bail application.
