A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an armed business robbery that took place in Musina on Monday afternoon.
According to police reports, the incident occurred at approximately 13:40 on Monday, 09 February 2026. The complainant was inside his shop assisting customers when three masked men entered. One of the suspects, described as wearing a navy blue reflector jacket and armed with a firearm, pointed the weapon at the shop owner and ordered him to lie down.
The suspects then demanded money. They proceeded to search the complainant, robbing him of cash. They also searched three employees and four customers who were present, taking money from them and seizing a passport.
The group fled the scene in a grey double-cab vehicle.
Following initial investigations, police pursued information on the suspect vehicle and traced it to a residence in the Bergview area of Musina. Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle parked in the yard. The owner identified himself, and a search was conducted. During the search, a 9mm pistol was discovered inside the vehicle, leading to the arrest of the 30-year-old suspect.
Police indicate that the investigation is ongoing and that the suspect may be linked to other similar cases in the area.
The arrested individual is scheduled to appear before the Musina Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 11 February 2026.
