Four suspects wanted for murder, attempted murder, and robbery with a firearm were fatally wounded in a shootout with police on Tuesday night, 10 February 2026.
According to police, officers acted on intelligence regarding the whereabouts of the suspects, who were located at a two-roomed shack in Amatikwe Area 2. Upon arrival, a shootout broke out between the suspects and law enforcement.
All four suspects sustained fatal gunshot wounds during the exchange. No police officers were injured in the incident.
Authorities recovered four pistols and several rounds of ammunition from the scene.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) has been notified and will conduct an investigation into the shooting, as per standard procedure.
