A 23-year-old male suspect is in police custody following a burglary and related incidents at a plot in Nkuri Sifasonke Village early on Friday, 06 February 2026.
According to police reports, the 41-year-old female property owner was alerted to the crime by an employee who notified her that unknown individuals were attempting to steal a motor vehicle from her plot. The complainant proceeded immediately to the scene.
Upon arrival, she found that a bedroom window had been opened and its burglar proofing forcibly removed. The keys to a Toyota Land Cruiser V8 were reported missing from the premises. It is further alleged that the vehicle was then driven out of the yard and collided with a house on the same property.
The collision caused damage to both the wall of the house and the vehicle.
Preliminary police investigations indicated the involvement of one of the complainant’s employees in the incident. The 23-year-old suspect was subsequently traced and arrested by Limpopo police.
The suspect is scheduled to appear before the Giyani Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 10 February 2026. He faces charges of burglary at a residence, using a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, and malicious damage to property.
