Musina Police Arrest Woman for Possession of Unlicensed Firearm

A 27-year-old Zimbabwean national was arrested in Musina on Thursday night for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

According to police reports, the arrest occurred at approximately 21:00 on Thursday, 05 February 2026, at a residence in Nancefield. The operation was initiated after police received information around 20:00 about a suspect linked to an attempted murder case.

Following an information-gathering exercise, police members proceeded to the identified residence. Upon arrival, they found only a female occupant at the premises.

A search of the house was conducted, leading to the discovery of a 9mm pistol with a filed-off serial number concealed inside a pillow. Authorities also recovered live ammunition and one magazine.

When questioned about the firearm, the woman could not provide a satisfactory explanation. She was immediately placed under arrest for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The suspect is scheduled to appear before the Musina Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 09 February 2026, to face the charges. Police confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
