Police arrested three men and recovered a firearm and stolen goods following a business robbery in Pacaltsdorp on Wednesday, 04 February 2026.
The incident occurred at approximately 16:30 at a spaza shop on Japonica Street, New Dawn Park. Responding officers from Pacaltsdorp police, the Outeniqua K9 Unit, and the Garden Route District Crime Combatting Team found community members had pursued the suspects. One suspect was cornered and arrested at the scene.
Police tracked two additional suspects to bushes in Zone 06, Thembalethu. Upon their arrest, officers confiscated a 9mm pistol, cell phones, cigarettes, and cash. Some items are confirmed as stolen from the robbery.
A bystander sustained a gunshot wound to the leg during the incident and was hospitalized.
The three suspects face charges of attempted murder, business robbery, and possession of an unlicensed firearm. They will appear in court once formally charged.
