A 39-year-old foreign national was arrested on Friday, 30 January 2026, for dealing in and possessing drugs.
The arrest followed a joint operation by the Johannesburg Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation team, Ekurhuleni Community Liaison, the Ekurhuleni Intervention Unit, Headquarters Crime Intelligence, K9 West Rand, the Pretoria Forensic Science Laboratory, and the Germiston Local Criminal Record Centre.
Police acted on information received on Wednesday, 28 January 2026, about a suspect allegedly operating an illegal drug laboratory in Cruywagen Park, Ekurhuleni. Upon searching the premises on Friday, they discovered 8 kilograms of Cat and 2 kilograms of Crystal Meth, with an estimated value of more than R1 million.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court on Monday, 02 February 2026.
