One suspect was shot dead and two others were arrested following a shootout with police on Allandale Road this afternoon.
Gauteng Highway Patrol members had responded to a lookout for a Hyundai i20 linked to a business robbery in Olievenhoutbosch. The vehicle was spotted on Allandale Road. Upon seeing police, the occupants sped off, leading to a high-speed chase and an exchange of gunfire.
The vehicle was intercepted at the corner of Allandale Road and Waterfall Drive. One suspect was declared dead at the scene. The two others were arrested. Police seized a firearm and an undisclosed amount of cash from the vehicle.
