On 26 January 2026, Barkly East SAPS Visible Policing members arrested three suspects for drug possession following an operation in Mthobo Nkululeko township.
Police acted on received information, searched a premises, and found suspected drugs. The suspects, aged 22 to 36, were found in possession of 57 Mandrax tablets, 7 small bags of tik, and a bag of loose dagga.
The drugs were confiscated as evidence.
The trio appeared in the Barkly East Magistrate’s Court on 27 January 2026. They were released on R750 bail each and will reappear on 5 May 2026.
