The Parys Regional Court has sentenced a 45-year-old man to life imprisonment for raping his 13-year-old daughter. The crimes occurred in Vredefort in 2021.
The victim reported the multiple rapes to her mother in Inanda, KwaZulu-Natal. A case was registered there and transferred to the Tumahole Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Unit. Detective Sergeant Chris Fongoqa led the investigation.
The accused fled in 2021. D/Sergeant Fongoqa tracked him down and arrested him in 2023. He remained in custody until his sentencing on 28 January 2026. The court also declared him unfit to possess a firearm.
