Illegal Alcohol Plant Discovered During Firearm Search

On Tuesday, 27 January 2026, at approximately 22:30, police discovered an illegal alcohol manufacturing plant at a premises on Antilope Street, Uitzicht, Kraaifontein.

The discovery occurred during an operation led by Kraaifontein Crime Intelligence, assisted by Durbanville SAPS, to locate a person of interest possessing an unlicensed firearm.

At the address, officers found two Congolese nationals, aged 23 and 24. A search uncovered large quantities of alcohol and manufacturing machinery in one room.

The two men were arrested on the spot for the illegal manufacturing of alcohol.
