A 52-year-old man will appear in the Moutse Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, for the alleged rape of his 39-year-old niece.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening in Ntoane village, Dennilton, in the Sekhukhune District. According to police, the victim was walking home when she met her uncle, who accompanied her to a local tavern. After drinking, they left for home. The suspect allegedly became aggressive, dragged her off the road, strangled her, and raped her.
The suspect left the scene. The victim reported the rape to Dennilton Police Station. Crime Prevention members arrested the suspect the same night.
The case is now with the Groblersdal Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit for further investigation.
