Police in Maake have initiated a manhunt for unknown suspect(s) following the discovery of a murdered woman in Metz Village this past weekend.
The incident came to light on Saturday, 17 January 2026, at approximately 21:00, when police were alerted to a deceased person at a residential house in the village. Officers immediately responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, they encountered a male individual at the location. This person led them to the victim inside the dwelling. A 28-year-old woman was found lying on the floor with a rope tied around her neck. The rope was attached to the roof.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel were called to the scene and subsequently certified the victim dead.
An inquest case was initially opened for investigation. A post-mortem examination was later conducted, and its results confirmed that the woman was murdered. The case has now been reclassified as a murder investigation.
At this stage, the suspects remain unknown, and the circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.
