A shooting at the main entrance of the Booysens Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning left two people dead and three injured.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:30. According to police, five people were shot. Two victims were declared dead at the scene. The three wounded were taken to a hospital.
Preliminary information indicates the group was at the court to support an accused person appearing for a murder and attempted murder case from Mondeor in April 2025. One of the injured is the accused’s lawyer.
Investigation reports state that three men in caps approached the group as they were leaving, fired shots, and fled in a suspected cloned white Audi. The motive is currently unknown. Investigations are ongoing.
