On Friday, 16 January 2026, the Clanwilliam Magistrates’ Court sentenced 40-year-old Shaun Titus to 10 years’ imprisonment, with two years suspended for five years, for dealing in drugs under Act 140/1992 5(b).
The offence occurred on 20 December 2021 at 14:50 in Citrusdal. Members of the West Coast District Rural Flying Squad observed a person with a backpack exiting a suspicious vehicle at a garage next to the N7 National Road. Upon searching the individual and his backpack, they found 1.013 kg of methamphetamine (tik) with an estimated street value of R354,550. The suspect claimed the substance was salt.
