On 17 January 2026, police arrested two foreign nationals at a house in Dobsonville for manufacturing illicit alcohol.
The Johannesburg K9 Unit conducted the operation based on intelligence. Authorities confiscated production machinery, illicit alcohol in 100 ml containers, various branded labels, and money suspected to be proceeds of crime.
The suspects will appear in court on 19 January 2026, charged under the National Liquor Act 59 of 2003.
