A 22-year-old man died on Saturday evening, 11 January 2026, after an explosion in his yard in Promosa. He was reportedly cutting metal pieces with an electric grinder for recycling purposes when the blast occurred.
Police were notified after the man was found unresponsive with multiple wounds. He was declared dead on arrival at Promosa Clinic.
An inspection by the police Explosive Unit found shrapnel at the scene consistent with a nose fuse from an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) device.
