David Mashudu Netsitungulu (48) appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 15 January 2026, charged with theft and fraud.
The Legal Practitioners Fidelity Fund alleges that between January 2016 and December 2020, Netsitungulu, a since-disbarred attorney, lodged Road Accident Fund (RAF) claims for eleven victims. The RAF paid approximately R15 million into his firm’s trust account. Prosecutors allege none of the eleven victims received the funds.
Netsitungulu was arrested by the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation unit on 15 January 2026. The court granted him R20,000 bail. The case is postponed to 03 March 2026.
