A 39-year-old man was arrested on Friday, 09 January 2026, for possession of illegal explosives near the Beitbridge Border Post in the Musina policing area.
Members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) spotted two men carrying large bags during a routine patrol. The suspects dropped the bags and fled. One was apprehended; the other escaped.
The abandoned bags contained 25 Carmex safety fuses and 125 blasting cartridges.
