Police have recovered two suspected getaway vehicles used in a cash-in-transit (CIT) robbery in Roodepoort on 10 January 2026. The vehicles were located at a residence in Meadowlands, Soweto, shortly after the incident.
The recovered cars are a white BMW and a Nissan Hardbody bakkie. Authorities have confirmed that the BMW was hijacked in Gauteng and the Nissan bakkie in North West prior to the robbery.
Two individuals, a man and a woman, were found inside the Meadowlands house and have been taken into police custody for questioning.
An active search for the remaining suspects and the recovery of stolen cash is currently underway.
