Members of the Welkom Anti-Gang Unit arrested a 41-year-old man from Slovo Park, Phuthaditjhaba, on Saturday, 3 January 2026. The arrest, for possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition, followed a tip-off from the community.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Phuthaditjhaba Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 5 January 2026, on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
