On Saturday, 27 December 2025, the Malmesbury SAPS Crime Prevention Unit arrested a known local gang member.
Police, acting on information about a firearm, had searched for the suspect earlier in the evening without success. Close to midnight, members located him on foot.
A search found an imitation firearm loaded with two 9mm rounds of ammunition in his possession. The suspect has been previously linked to armed robbery.
He was arrested for possession of an imitation firearm and ammunition. He will appear in the Malmesbury Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 29 December 2025.
