A 30-year-old man has been arrested following the fatal stabbing of two women in Gomba locality, Hlabatshana Administrative Area, on Sunday, December 14, 2025.
The victims, aged 42 and 54, were found with multiple stab wounds to their upper bodies. The 54-year-old victim was the owner of the homestead where the attack occurred.
Preliminary information indicates the male suspect had a romantic affair with the older victim.
A neighbour witnessed the suspect stabbing the younger victim after discovering the older victim already deceased. The neighbour alerted the community, whose members then assaulted the suspect.
Emergency Medical Services personnel certified both women dead at the scene. The injured suspect was transported to a hospital under police guard.
Police are investigating.
