On Friday, 5 December 2025, the Odendaalsrus Regional Court sentenced a 55-year-old man to life imprisonment for raping his biological daughter.
The court heard that the victim, aged 17 at the time, moved in with her father in Allanridge in January 2022. Two days later, he made her share his bed. From January until August 2022, he repeatedly raped her on a weekly basis.
The matter was reported to police in Allanridge on 25 August 2022. Following an investigation by Constable Malearongwa Mokoena of the Welkom Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit, the accused was arrested, denied bail, and remanded in custody.
Prosecutor Baloyi led the state’s case, resulting in a guilty verdict. Magistrate Mzana imposed the life sentence.
