On 2 December, our control centre received a panic signal from a client in Constantiapark. Our armed response unit was immediately dispatched, and upon arrival it was confirmed that a house robbery had taken place. The suspects had already fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.
Later, during a routine patrol in Garsfontein X10, one of our tactical officers spotted the same suspects attempting to break into another property. Upon noticing the officer, the suspects fled, prompting our tactical officer to call for backup. A chase ensued.
Information was quickly shared across all relevant security groups, and multiple security companies joined the effort with updates and support.
Garsfontein SAPS Warrant Officer Lynette Erasmus and Warrant Officer Machintosh joined our reaction units in the pursuit and successfully apprehended the suspects at the Six Fountains Shopping Centre.
