Two Bodyguards Arrested With Illegal Rifles Outside Alexandra Court

Two bodyguards were arrested outside the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday after being found in possession of illegal firearms and ammunition.

The men, aged 24 and 36, were apprehended after authorities discovered they were carrying two semi-automatic AKM rifles and a quantity of ammunition without valid permits. Police believe the bodyguards were part of a security detail escorting an accused person who was scheduled to appear in court today.

In a related seizure, the vehicle transporting the bodyguards was also impounded by police. The confiscation followed the discovery that the vehicle’s license disk did not correspond with its registration number plates.

The pair remain in custody and are expected to face charges related to the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. The investigation is ongoing.
