The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has directed that all available resources be used to hunt down the suspects responsible for a fatal farm attack near the Baltimore policing area.
The directive follows a violent incident on Saturday, 29 November 2025, which resulted in the death of a 77-year-old farmer.
According to a police report, the incident began at approximately 16:00 when the elderly man left his farmhouse to check on his cattle. During his absence, two male suspects entered the home and tied up his wife.
Upon the husband’s return, he was confronted by the intruders, who restrained him at knifepoint. The suspects then severely assaulted the 77-year-old man before fleeing the scene.
The wife managed to free herself and alert a farm watch group. Police and neighbouring farmers responded to the call. Upon reaching the scene, they found the husband still tied up and lying unconscious. Emergency Medical Services personnel declared him dead upon their arrival.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld as part of the ongoing investigation.
