Komani Drug Bust Nets Two Suspects, R25k in Narcotics Seized

Two suspects, aged 21 and 38, are scheduled to appear before the Komani Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 17 November 2025, facing allegations of drug possession and dealing. Their court appearance follows a successful intelligence-driven operation and subsequent arrest on Friday, 14 November 2025.

The operation was conducted by a multidisciplinary team comprising the Komani Flying Squad, the Komani Dog Unit (K9), and Komani Crime Intelligence (CI). Acting on gathered intelligence, the team targeted two separate premises in Komani suspected of being used for drug dealing.

In the first incident, within the Komani Central Business District (CBD), a 38-year-old suspect was arrested at his business premises. Authorities found him in possession of 790 Boss mandrax tablets and tik (crystal meth) weighing 198 grams. The combined estimated street value of the confiscated drugs is R25,740.

In a second, simultaneous operation also in Komani, a 21-year-old suspect was arrested. He was found in possession of 55 grams of tik, with an estimated street value of R7,150.

The duo remains in custody and will make their first court appearance before the Komani Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 17 November 2025.
