The Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Unit has launched an investigation into a serious business burglary and a case of attempted murder following a break-in at a school in Mabolela Village.
The incident occurred between the evening of Tuesday, 23 September, and the morning of Wednesday, 24 September 2025. Unknown suspects gained entry into the school premises, where they caused significant damage to school property.
According to preliminary reports, the burglars made off with a substantial haul of items, including 187 black tablets, a black and silver Fast Track sound mixer, and an undisclosed amount of cash. The thieves also stole several cellphones belonging to learners.
The situation escalated dramatically as the suspects were preparing to flee. Upon encountering the complainants, one of the individuals discharged a firearm in their direction before escaping the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the gunshot.
