Intercape Bus Drivers Allege Unfair Working Conditions

Some Intercape bus drivers claim they are being forced to work for an entire month without days off and are required to drive long-distance return trips without adequate rest. Workers say that after driving passengers from Johannesburg to Durban or Cape Town, they are expected to return immediately to Johannesburg without an overnight break.

The Tirisano Transport Services and Workers Union confirmed it is aware of the concerns raised by employees. However, Intercape has denied the allegations, calling them unfounded.

The dispute highlights ongoing tensions over working conditions in the long-distance bus industry.

No further comments have been issued by either side at this time.
