ActionSA Assures Stability in Tshwane Coalition, Vows to Continue Service Delivery Progress

ActionSA has reaffirmed that the multi-party coalition government in Tshwane, led by Mayor Dr. Nasiphi Moya, remains stable and committed to improving service delivery despite financial and governance challenges inherited from previous administrations.

During a media briefing in Pretoria, the party presented its governance performance tracker—a tool designed to monitor service delivery and enhance accountability. ActionSA emphasized its dedication to restoring functionality, dignity, and financial stability in the capital city.

Turning the Tide After Years of Mismanagement

Party leaders acknowledged that Mayor Moya’s first nine months in office have been difficult, citing years of municipal decay, financial instability, and declining services. However, they insisted that the coalition government has made significant strides in reversing these trends.

Key efforts include strengthening bylaw enforcement, addressing lawlessness, and implementing fairer service delivery systems. The mayor also dismissed rumors of coalition instability, pushing back against speculation that the partnership with the ANC, EFF, and smaller parties is under threat.

“Is the coalition collapsing? No, the coalition is not collapsing,” Mayor Moya stated firmly. She admitted that disagreements among partners have arisen but stressed that resolving them remains a priority to prevent further suffering for Tshwane residents.

Residents’ Support as the Ultimate Defense

ActionSA warned political opponents against attempts to destabilize the mayor’s administration, asserting that residents—who are beginning to see improvements—would fiercely oppose any such moves.

“The only security you have as a political party is whether or not you are delivering in such a manner that residents would defend you,” a party representative said. “If you think the reaction to General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi was big, consider how Tshwane residents would respond to anyone trying to remove this mayor.”

Financial Challenges and Progress

Despite ongoing fiscal constraints, ActionSA reported progress in revenue collection, enabling consistent payments to essential service providers like Eskom and Rand Water. Improved accountability measures have also led to better audit outcomes and more responsible budget management.

As the coalition government moves forward, ActionSA maintains that restoring trust and ensuring effective governance remain its top priorities for Tshwane’s future.
