Suspect Arrested for Drug Possession in Naboomspruit

 A 30-year-old male suspect was arrested for drug possession during an intelligence-driven operation in the Naboomspruit policing area on Friday, 01 August 2025.

The Provincial Organized Crime Investigation Unit acted on an anonymous tip-off about a suspected drug dealer operating from a vehicle in Phomolong Extension, Mookgopong. Police swiftly operationalized the information and located the described vehicle in the area.

At approximately 23:00, officers intercepted and searched the vehicle, uncovering an undisclosed amount of cash along with plastic bags containing suspected illicit drugs. The seized substances included Crystal Meth, Heroin, and Cat (Methcathinone), with an estimated street value of R10,000.

The suspect was arrested on the spot and is set to appear before the Mookgophong Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 04 August 2025, facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs.

Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
