The Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court has sentenced former Crime Intelligence Warrant Officer Tshepo Matthews Sephapho (48) to five years in prison for fraud, forgery, and uttering.
Sephapho, who was attached to Parkroad SAPS, was arrested in Botshabelo on 28 July 2024 by the Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation team. The charges stemmed from a 2022 incident in which he forged the signatures of his superiors to fraudulently withdraw R134,000 from the Secret Services Account (SSA).
Following an investigation by the Hawks, a warrant for his arrest was issued and executed. The court’s ruling underscores the consequences of corruption within law enforcement, reaffirming the commitment to holding offenders accountable.
