The Colesberg Regional Court has handed down an eight-year direct prison sentence to 26-year-old Siphosethu Dweba for the attempted murder of his former girlfriend, 24-year-old Sesethu Abram.
The violent attack occurred in the early hours of 12 December 2024, when Dweba stabbed Abram multiple times in the back, arm, and chest. Following the assault, authorities swiftly arrested Dweba, ensuring he faced legal consequences for his actions.
Detective Sergeant Zukhile Phololo of the Kuyasa Detective Unit led the investigation, with his dedication and meticulous work playing a crucial role in securing the conviction.
In addition to the prison term, the court declared Dweba unfit to possess a firearm, further restricting his ability to pose a threat upon release.
