The Botshabelo Regional Court has convicted and sentenced 32-year-old Vuyisile Isaac to 10 years in prison for the murder of Sello Lefu, following a violent altercation over cigarettes and alcohol in September 2024.
The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 29 September 2024, when police were called to a passage in Section C, Botshabelo, after an African male was found dead with multiple stab wounds. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. He was later identified as Mr. Sello Lefu.
The case was assigned to Constable Setjhaba Mohokare, whose thorough investigation revealed that the fatal stabbing stemmed from a heated argument between two friends. The dispute reportedly centered on the number of cigarettes and liquor each had purchased while at a local tavern.
Thanks to Constable Mohokare’s swift and diligent efforts, Vuyisile Isaac was arrested on 30 September 2024 in connection with Lefu’s death. After a thorough judicial process, the Botshabelo Regional Court found Isaac guilty and handed down a 10-year prison sentence.
