A 38-year-old male suspect was arrested in the early hours of Saturday, 07 June 2025, after being found in possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle on the N1 South near Polokwane.
The arrest followed a coordinated operation by the Limpopo Provincial Flying Squad, who acted on intelligence regarding a stolen white Toyota Cross. The vehicle had been reported stolen earlier this month in Rustenburg, North West.
Between 23:00 on Friday, 06 June 2025, and 03:00 on Saturday, authorities, with the assistance of Tshimollo Security and Tracker Company, located and intercepted the vehicle. The suspect was the sole occupant of the car at the time of the arrest. Further inspection revealed that the vehicle had been fitted with false registration plates. Verification confirmed that it was the same vehicle sought by the Rustenburg SAPS.
The suspect was taken into custody immediately, and the stolen vehicle was successfully recovered. He is scheduled to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 09 June 2025, facing charges of possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.
