In a targeted effort to combat the spread of illicit drugs, the SAPS Mahwelereng Detectives, supported by the K9 Unit, conducted a successful intelligence-led operation on Friday, 06 June 2025. The tactical operation, which commenced at 06:00, focused on three suspects across separate locations, resulting in multiple arrests and significant drug seizures.
First Arrest: Mosesetjane Village
The operation’s initial phase unfolded in Mosesetjane Village, where officers apprehended a 21-year-old African male at his residence. A search of his room yielded:

Charges and Court Appearance
All three suspects are currently detained at Mahwelereng SAPS and face charges under the Drugs and Drug Trafficking Act (Act 140 of 1992) for Possession of Prohibited Drugs. The combined street value of the confiscated narcotics is estimated at R10,000.00.
The accused are scheduled to appear before the Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 09 June 2025.
