A family in Herrencroft, Phoenix, was held up earlier yesterday by four armed men posing as South African Police Service (SAPS) officials. The suspects, all African males, were traveling in a white Isuzu bakkie fitted with blue dashboard lights, commonly used by law enforcement.
According to reports, the suspects were armed with rifles and handguns. The motive behind the incident remains unclear, but hijacking or robbery is suspected.
Local security groups, including KZNVIP and the Community Policing Forum (CPF), swiftly responded and were on the scene investigating. Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, particularly involving vehicles with unauthorized blue lights or individuals impersonating police officers.
