IPSS Medical Rescue alongside IPSS Security responded to reports of a shooting in the Mangethe area.
Reports from the scene indicate that two people sustained gunshot wounds with one person sadly being declared deceased. A second patient was found to be in critical condition after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds.
The critically injured patient was stabilised on scene by IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedics before being airlifted by the Air Mercy Services helicopter to a specialised facility for further care.
Circumstances surrounding the shooting are being investigated by SAPS.
