A 34-year-old man has been arrested by Malamulele police after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend to death in the early hours of Friday, 30 May 2025. The gruesome incident took place at the victim’s rental room in Malamulele Section A.
According to reports, the suspect arrived at the victim’s residence and was allowed inside. Shortly afterward, neighbors heard a violent altercation erupt in the room, followed by the victim’s desperate screams for help.
Upon rushing to the scene, neighbors found the suspect fleeing. Inside the room, they discovered the victim’s lifeless body lying in a pool of blood, with multiple stab wounds on her upper body. A sharp object, believed to be the murder weapon, was also found at the scene. Authorities were immediately alerted, and police and paramedics were dispatched.
Emergency personnel confirmed the victim’s death at the scene. A murder case was promptly opened, and an investigation launched.
The suspect was later apprehended in nearby bushes, sustaining minor injuries. He is currently receiving medical treatment under police guard and is expected to appear before the Malamulele Magistrates’ Court soon to face a murder charge.
